Seth Towns is a literature enthusiast, Columbus, Ohio native and a promising class of 2016 basketball recruit for Harvard University. As the third sophomore ever to earn Ivy League player of the year (2018) Towns was certain his pro aspirations would become realized, however, an untimely knee injury delayed his ascension. Towns doubled down on his love for academics earning his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Harvard (2020) and Ohio State (2022) respectively, while pursuing a comeback. Faced with mediocre results, Towns took a year off from 2022 -23 to discover himself. He found his confidence to play and used his joy for writing to pursue a doctorate in English at Howard University, an HBCU (Historically Black College or University). Towns returned to college basketball as an eighth-year redshirt senior joining the Bisons as a veteran leader with a goal of obtaining the program’s first NCAA men’s march madness tournament win.
